Ooooohhh it’s just soooooo hot – especially with a lovely fur coat on! I have soent all day just lying around trying to get cool – and it’s hard work. Mum sent through confirmation of all the acts for our airshow & they are: Yak 52 with Uncle Nigel; Harvard with Uncle Dave; Dukes of Cassutt with the cheeky chappies Richard Grace, Dave Puleston and Aiden Brown; Extra 300 with Justyn Gorman (ooh that mad whizzy aircraft again!!); Spitfire with Carolyn Grace (I’m going to try & hitch a ride with my favourite lady spitfire pilot!); P-51 Mustang Pair with Grandad and Uncle Rob …. What a GREAT show this is going to be!!!!

29th June 09

After my hectic weekend it was time for a rest and EGSR and a chance to meet up with my Firebear … oooh I have missed him so much. We had so much to catch up on and spent the whole day talking and chatting – so much so I never got a single ride in an aircraft! Ooops – don’t tell mum, but I really don’t mind coz it was so good to see my bear!

28th June 09
Yay more pictures at Hardwick this morning – we’re getting there. But I’ve lost count of the bums I’ve seen – what a thing for a little innocent bear to say!!! I then got to fly in the Extra (that little whizzy aircraft) and went with Justyn to Old Buck where I done a display with him. Oooohhh spinning head again – how do these guys manage to fly the aircraft like this??!! After that I headed off to Rougham (again) with Justyn, where I had yet another display with him. Oh I feel sick now – I need some food and drink… thankfully Falcon Firecrew were on hand to help me out. I went home with Auntie Debs again in the Yak – nice and gentle back to EGSR. After that we drove to EGST to do a flight test in YAKO another yak!! Wow – what a busy day – I’ll sleep well tonight!

27th June 09

Start of a busy, but fun weekend! First off we flew to Martlesham for a display at BT families day. We were the first aircraft to land at Martlesham for many years – this place has a great history as a famous RAF station – but now the land is home to BT. We landed on a strip of grass at the back of the site called ‘The Range’ which is used for testing new telephones! I had my 1st Yak display today – and my head is still spinning … what happened during a lomcevak – I had NO idea which way was up! After that it was off to Rougham where I met up with mum again, and this time displayed with her in the Auster – much more sedate & ladylike I’ll have you know! Mum, Dom & I then headed home to Hardwick, dodging the rain & storms & CBs on the way! The viz was really crap in places – but good old mum got us safetly home! We then were waiting for Justyn & Mungo to turn up for their photo-shoot, poor mum was getting so worried as the weather wasn’t very nice and they were late. But thankfully all was ok & they turned up so that we could go out for a meal, while everyone else made do with a Chinese at the hanger!

26th June 09
Auntie Debs & Uncle Nigel came to Hardwick this afternoon – in a Cessna (makes a chance from a Yak!) Uncle Nigel had to do mum’s biannual so we all went flying in the Harvard – yippee! We had to do a navigation trip to find Wisbech St Mary, where mum is displaying at the weekend. Then Uncle Nigel had us do some stalling on the way back … ooohh errr – not sure I like that – why are you making a perfectly good aircraft stop flying?? Just don’t get it! Then it was time for me to go off for a little trip back to EGSR in ECAD the Cessna, cor it was hot in there today, weather is a tad warm!! After that I had a treat as we had to take the Yak to EGST for weekend as it is easier to base it out of there for the displays that are lined up!

21st June 09
Hardwick open day today & a chance to sell lots of tickets and do lots of promotion for our airshow and the calendar yay!! Auntie Emma and Nannie did ever so well bullying, I mean asking people to buy my raffle tickets, they were very generous and in total we raised £130!! We are doing well so well in our fund raising efforts! We got a little wet in the morning but the day brightened up and we had lots of fun, and I even got a T6 flight with Mum and Auntie Emma! I met Ben from Sywell museum, now he is a cheeky chap! I did have to hide at one stage as four men threatened to kidnap me! Meanies – grrr!! But to cheer me up mum had many offers to take me flying – in lots of different and exciting aircraft!!

20th June 09
Today Julian Murfitt came to Hardwick in his Extra – wow I like these little whizzy aircraft!! Anyway WHEN he found the right airfield (heehee – poor naviagation!) he stripped off ALL his clothes on the end of the runway and mum snapped a lot of pictures!! I wasn't in these pictures as I was busy flying in the Mustang at the time - I have such a hard life! We went and did a display at Hucknall (love that whistle as we loop & roll around!) and then we went into Tibenham! Oh I’m such a busy busy bear – but I love it!

19th June 09
It was Ken’s funeral today & Grandad had arranged this lovely flypast for him as he loved the aircraft. Mum & I flew in the Harvard leading the formation and Grandad and Uncle Dave flew Janie and Marinell – such a lovely tribute to a lovely man. Everybody said how well we all done and how Ken would have loved it … and I must confess to having a tear in my eye.

18th June 09

Been busy today working on some more airshow stuff – just how much is there to do??!! Mum managed to arrange for a local company (Dissigns) to do a big banner for us free for the airshow! They were ever so nice people and the best bit is they are even going to put a picture of me on it!! How cool is that?!! Well come on let’s face it anything with me on is going to be good – coz I’m such a famous lovable little bear!!

17th June 09
Grandad was busy today as he had to test fly the Harvard this evening, ready for Ken's funeral on Friday. Thankfully all was well and it looks like mum & I will be able to lead the 3 ship flypast formation.

16th June 09
Busy night again working on the Harvard, but we’re almost there. There are so many bits on that engine I daren’t interfere knowing my luck I’d lose something – bears paws are just not made for intricate work!! Mum and I were kept busy though by making the boys plenty of tea to keep them working! Must have done the trick coz they worked ever so hard – thanks Grandad, mum wants her ‘red-nosed baby’ fixed so we can go flying!

15th June 09
Today was a stormy old day with thunder and lightening all around but being British we done what we’re so good at & had a barbeque in the rain!! Yay! Love a summer BBQ complete with a storm! What a sight though with the clouds and lightening - fantastic! But I will have to admit that some of those big bangs made me jump – but don’t tell anyone … I don’t want people thinking I’m a scaredy cat!!

14th June 09
Our big day out today!! The Hardwick crew headed down to Bentwaters to support the Cold War Museum open day –it was great fun flying in a loose formation with all these wonderful aircraft … but mum wouldn’t let me fly in a mustang – boo!! Mum & I had our first airshow display – yay it was fun! Mum was SOOOO nervous and I had to spend ages calming her down – ‘chill out mum – it’s only flying and you do that all the time’ I just didn’t understand her nerves – and I don’t think she understood me!! Anyway I flew with her and it was great, we both enjoyed ourselves very much and I so much fun waving to the huge crowd of people! We met up with Guy & the Falcon Fire Crew and handed out a load of flyers! Great day – but very tired … slept soundly tonight!

13th June 09
A quiet day at Hardwick but with plenty of maintenance going on – oooh I don’t like that – the oil and grease makes such a mess of my fur, not really a job for the girls is it – especially when we have the boys to do it!! I did manage to sneak into the Auster with mum for a couple of practice displays before THE big day tomorrow – our 1st Airdisplay! I'm so very excited – I don’t know how I’ll possibly sleep tonight??!

12th June 09
A very sad day today, so we cancelled all our plans. A very dear friend of mum and her family died of cancer. So it was bit of a shock to us all and left us all very sad. So in great British tradition we had a drink in his honour. May he rest in peace.

11th June 09
Mum & I sat down today and put together some ideas for the airshow. Oooh it is so complicated to put together, I just thought a few people got up to fly – but it’s not like that at all – lots of red tape. Where’s Uncle Dave when you need him??! We asked a very cheekily to try and get a sponsor for the last month on the calendar, but with no luck. Meanies!! But we will keep trying!!

10th June 09
Today Carolyn Grace confirmed that she will display for us at out Shipdham airshow!! YAY!! Two confirmations in as many days – this is great. We are very grateful to her - what an attraction that will be! Now does she have room for little ole me to fly with her?? I’m only small & I’ll be very good … and it will be good for the girls to fly together. I sooo hope so … please … PLEASE!!

9th June 09
The Dukes of Cassutt confirmed today that they are happy to come up to Shipdham and display for us – yippee more acts for our airshow!! They are a cheeky bunch of chappies so we should have some fun with them … wonder if it’s too late to persuade them to model for our calendar LOL?? Hmmm - wonder if I could hitch a ride with them during their display?? Only problem their aircraft are very small and only single seaters – don’t know if I fancy sitting that close to them!!

8th June 09
A quiet day today, well we did have lots of excitement this weekend. Mum has been busy putting in her displays in the diary, and it’s going well so far! Thanks to Auntie Debs and Uncle Nigel for drumming up support! We’re off to do Rougham, Seething, Wisbech & Thurston – I’m looking forward to this – gonna be a famous display bear yipee!!

7th June 09
The day after the night before - Hardwick very amusing today! There was no flying as it was raining cats and dogs, and most people had a hangover after the wedding and looked all very sleepy! After a bit of persuasion we did manage to get everyone motivated to put the aircraft back inside after the rain stopped – but they were very wet! Oops!!

6th June 09
Today’s the day … not flying but Emma and Ian's wedding! Yipee! It was a mad at home this morning with everybody trying to get ready – poor Grandad he really didn’t enjoy that at all!! But in the end it was worth it as Emma & her bridesmaids looked absolutely stunning, as did nannie! It was a really good day & the weather held good – bit of wind, but no rain. Emma & Ian arrived back at Hardwick in a horse drawn carriage and it looked a real cool way to travel – but mum wouldn’t let me have a go!! Never mind I was able to boogie the night away … even Uncle Dave managed a dance or two!

5th June 09
I was spoilt today as we’re on the serious countdown to tomorrow’s wedding. Us girlies went to the beauty salon and got pampered for the afternoon! I could get used to that – my fur has never looked so shiny and as for the nails on my paws! It was all wedding talk today instead of flying – which was rather strange to get used to. The marquee is up & decorated and looks fantastic, just hope we have nice weather now.

4th June 09
I spoke to Melvyn today … ok – mum spoke to Melvyn today – I’m still a bit nervous using the phone as big paws and little buttons are not a good mix – last time I ended up speaking to the local take-away! Anyway mum done a brilliant job and got some of our publishing sorted out. We’re sending him over more pictures of our naked pilots - good job he is a cheeky chappy too!!!

3rd June 09
Mum & I had a calendar day today & we have arranged more pictures to do, while Auntie Debs & Vic have their airfield CAA inspection today – now why didn’t they ask me to come down & help them … I have a good relationship with the CAA!! Julian has given us a date of June 20th to come up and get cheeky for us! Paws crossed for good weather – the pilots really don’t like taking their clothes off when it’s cold … can’t see the problem myself!!

2nd June 09
Busy day today, mum & I were looking at possible participants in our airshow at Shipdham (not long to go now!) We had some great news Rob Davies has confirmed that he will do a pairs display with ‘Grandad’ today!! YAY! What a sight and sound will two merlins be in the skies of Norfolk! Now I wonder which one I will hitch a ride in (now sssshhh don’t tell Uncle Dave as display aircraft are not allowed to take passengers!) – Janie is my favourite (for obvious reasons – LOL!) but I don’t know if Grandad is bringing her coz it might be Marinell’s turn …. Or I could fly with Uncle Rob in Big Beautiful Doll ….. oh decisions decisions – what is a bear to do ??!!

1st June 09
A quiet day today. Thought I’d take it easy and use the day for a few girlie beauty treatments (not that I need them you understand!!) – mind you those fancy creams play havoc with my fur, don’t really know what mum & Debs see in them! Thought I’d finish the day off with an early night – need all my strength to do more air show stuff tomoz!
